What does each liter of milk cost you?
Enter the liters per day, what you spent this month and what you are paid per liter. We tell you what each liter costs and what you keep.
How it is calculated
Cost per liter = monthly costs ÷ (liters per day × days). What you keep per liter is the price you are paid minus that cost.
For the math to be real, include everything for the month, including yearly bills divided by twelve. In the app, Finances adds up the expenses and the milk you record.
Questions
Which costs should I include?
Everything the dairy uses: feed and concentrate, salt, labor, vaccines and vet, power, fuel, rent and repairs. What you leave out makes the liter look cheaper than it is.
What about the milk the calves drink?
Enter only the milk you sell as liters per day. What stays on the farm does not go into the price.
