How to register your animals

Step by step

1. Open the Animals module, from the home screen or from More.
2. Tap Add.
3. Type the name and the ear tag or chip number. That is enough to save.
4. Choose the species, breed and sex. For a female, mark her status: open, pregnant, lactating, dry or heifer.
5. If you have them handy, add the weight, the group or paddock, the dam and the sire, and what you paid if you bought it. All of this can be filled in later.
6. Tap Save Animal.

To get more out of it

• Take a photo. With the photo, AURA tries to recognize the species and breed and suggests them. Check its suggestion before saving.
• Have a chip reader? If it connects to the phone like a keyboard, just read the chip in the Animals search box: the animal’s record opens.
• Have many? Below the form is Have many? Bring them from Excel. See how to bring your herd in from Excel.
• Groups. A feedlot pen or a flock of chickens can also be kept as a group, with its head count.

The free plan has an animal limit; the app shows how many you have and how many are left.
